The Municipal Central Disaster Management Cell is a critical unit of the Municipal Corporation, responsible for providing a swift and coordinated response during emergencies, especially in cases of natural disasters such as heavy rainfall and urban flooding.The cell's primary responsibility is to submit hourly updates on water levels to the Hon’ble Commissioner and heads of all concerned departments. It also plays a key role in issuing directives to relevant departments for relocating citizens to safe locations, and disseminating alerts and precautionary messages to the public via SMS and other communication channels.The core objective of this cell is to ensure disaster preparedness, effective inter-departmental coordination, and rapid action to safeguard lives, property, and public infrastructure.
